GRANDMA: Oh I remember all the silly stories people use to make up about Aunty Nelly.
TERANESE, MEIHANA, GWYNETH, NEETU to read out rhymes

The Bombay Button
When we sailed into Old Bombay
Couldn’t wait to get ashore cos I heard say
People there were the friendliest
That you you’d meet in the journey east to west
They were:
Banging on the drum           0  clapping us a tala
Strum another strum           playing us a raga
Have a poppadom                 give us a paratha
Ah-----------------                         hoy hoy hoy hoy
Gold red silver and indigo
All the silk and spices made a dazzling show.
Cobras dance to the melody
Of a charmer who put his basket down for me
They were:
Banging on a drum                       clapping us a tala
Strums another strum                    playing us a raga
Have poppadom                              give us a paratha
Ah-----------------                                   hoy hoy hoy hoy
Singers’ folk who were telling tales
Kathakali dancers’ men on the beds of nails
All these things I saw on that day
When I went to the kalbadevi in Bombay
They Were;
Banging on a drum                       clapping us a tala
Strums another strum                    playing us a raga
Have poppadom                              give us a paratha
Ah-----------------                                   hoy hoy hoy hoy(x2)
(X3)the ah bit.
