When its summer

When its summer,
And clouds and treetops meet,
I lie down, legs relaxed on the grass hills.

Bare feet,
And the ground,
And trees swaying,
And leaves falling on the ground.

And even though my eyes are closed,
I feel the emotions of the trees,
The wash of light and the chill on my lids.

Calming...
I breathe in the earthy fragrance of Mother Nature,
Smell the pohutakawa and the sizzling BBQ.

And it’s all sensation,
As I stand and sprint down to the sizzling,
Smell at the Barbeque,
Feel its heat and metal handle

Its pop music

Hot and yummy I’m full,
To the tippy top of my toes.

Grass loops around my ankles,
I smile and relax in the moonlight
